This design is a commemorative artwork for Exercise Garuda 2025. Exercise Garuda is the flagship bilateral air exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the French Air and Space Force (FASF) aka Armée de l’air et de l’espace. Launched in 2003, it is held periodically in India or France and is designed to deepen operational cooperation, not just showcase aircraft. The exercise is built around realistic, high-tempo air operations where mixed formations plan together, fly together, and debrief together, thereby building a shared playbook for future contingencies. Ex Garuda focuses on interoperability: joint mission planning, compatible tactics, and familiarisation with each other’s procedures, communications, and operational rhythm. Training typically includes air-to-air combat, air-defence scenarios, coordinated strike packages, escort missions, and enabling roles such as aerial refuelling and strategic airlift that extend range and endurance. In 2025 (Ex Garuda 25), the 8th edition was hosted at Mont-de-Marsan in France, with the IAF deploying the 15 Squadron aka Flying Lances with their Su-30MKI fighters and supported by IL-78 tankers and C-17 transport aircraft, alongside French assets, to conduct complex joint operations and strengthen the wider India–France strategic partnership.
