The Indian Naval Air Arm is the aviation branch and a fighting arm of the Indian Navy which is tasked to provide an aircraft carrier based strike capability, fleet air defence, maritime reconnaissance, and anti-submarine warfare. The Indian Naval Air Arm has 23 Squadrons with approximately 300 aircraft and is 5000 personnel strong. It currently operates all classes of military aircraft from fighter interceptors to ISR aircraft and RPAs to various helicopters as well.
